NEW BASIN BLUES HIGH SCHOOL XC SHOE PROGRAM
Founded in 2000 by the New Basin Blues Running Club in Los Angeles, the High School XC Shoe Program raises funds to buy brand new running shoes for kids who otherwise might not have the resources to purchase. The club partners with Trail Run Events to hire busses to bring the students to a central location for a run with club members before taking them over to our partner shoe store to pick up their new shoes. Fleet Feet Encino and A Runner's Circle, support this program by going out to the schools to measure the kids before ordering the shoes. Having club members run with the students is as important as buying the shoes because the group run shows the kids that running remains an important part of our lives after school ends. We are fortunate to have two Los Angeles running stores,
GARDEN OF ANGELS
Founded in 1996 by Debi Faris, Garden of Angels recovers remains of newborn babies who have been abandoned or dumped in dumpsters and gives them a dignified burial in a small section of the cemetery called Garden of Angels. Often, the services of these little unknowns are attended by dozens of police or fire fighters who actively weep for these precious souls. Debi worked tirelessly to bring the problem of newborn abandonment to the forefront resulting in the passing of California law SB 1368 allowing the parent of a newborn infant – within 3 days – to legally surrender their baby anonymously and without fear of prosecution to any employee at any hospital emergency room or other designated fire station in California.

LEAVE NO PAWS BEHIND
Leave No Paws Behind is the voice for those who cannot speak. They are an all foster based rescue specializing in seniors, End of Life and animals with special medical needs. They strive to help save the lives of those that are in most danger of being left behind to die on a cold shelter floor. Upon rescue, LNPB has every rescue vetted, treated and then placed in the loving care of fosters until they are adopted. LNPB’s more serious medically challenged rescues such as seniors who may suffer with terminal and/or severe mobility medical conditions as diagnosed by the Doctor’s are placed in loving hospice/long term foster care for as long as needed.
