  • 100-Mile at 8:00am - 30 Hour Limit
  • 24-Hour at 8:15am
  • 12-Hour at 8:30am
  • 6-Hour Flex Start between 8:30am and 1:00pm

EVENT FEATURES 
  • USAT&F Certified 2.43-mile loop dirt course.
  • Men's and Ladies' Customized Dri-Fit Race Shirts.
  • Custom Finisher Award printed with your name and total mileage completed.
  • Custom Belt Buckle for all runners reaching 100-miles.
  • Costume Contest for free race entry.
  • Approximately 72' gain and loss per loop.
  • Computerized chip lap counting.
  • Official race PHOTOS.
  • There will be a medical tent at base camp with an AED and staffed by a Licensed Nurse who is CPR Certified.
  • Foot tape for hot spots and blisters will be available at the Medical Tent.

PARK HOURS
  • Official park hours are 5:00am to 10:30pm. (gates open @5am and close @ 10:30pm)
  • NOTE: All runners who wish to leave the park must exit before park gates close at 10:30pm and there will be no entry into the park until gates open at 5:00am. 
  • NOTE: If you do not exit the park before 10:30pm, you will remain in the park until the gates are unlocked at 5:00am on Sunday morning. This means that 24-Hour runners who drop after 10:30pm must remain in the park until morning.​

ARRIVAL & PARKING FOR 100-MILE & 24-HOUR RUNNERS ONLY
  • Please study the PARKING MAP and instructions.
  • The event address is 4730 Crystal Springs Drive, Los Angeles, 90027
  • Please enter the park from the Los Feliz Blvd. 
  • Your arrival time is 5:30am.
  • Please do not line up before 5:30am because we need to get our crew and volunteers inside before we admit any runners.
  • Set your odometer to 0.0.
  • Drive on Crystal Springs Drive for approx. 1.25 miles.
  • RIGHT TURN and follow 0.25 miles to the CIRCLE.
  • GO LEFT at the CIRCLE to “AAA” parking.
  • 100M & 24-Hour Runners will receive a Premium Parking Pass with their email. You must display this pass to get into “AAA” parking and you must display this pass on your dashboard throughout the entire event. 
  • The Premium Parking Pass will allow you to park as close to the race course as possible to get priority tent space.
  • Follow the instructions of the parking attendants.
  • Head in parking only; no back in and no parallel parking please.
  • No parking on dirt, grass or wood chips.
  • Parking spaces will accommodate passenger vehicles, SUVs and regular size vans. No oversize vans, RVs or Trailers will be permitted in the AAA parking lot per park rules.
  • We regret that we cannot give premium parking to all our participants but our parking spaces are restricted by our permit conditions so only runners who will be on the course throughout the night will have premium parking.
 
ARRIVAL & PARKING FOR 12-HOUR & 6-HOUR RUNNERS 
  • Please study the PARKING MAP and instructions.
  • The event address is 4730 Crystal Springs Drive, Los Angeles, 90027
  • Your arrival time is 6:00am.
  • Please enter the park from the Los Feliz Blvd. entrance only and set your odometer to 0.0.
  • Pay attention to your odometer because 100-mile/24-hour runners will turn before you do.
  • Drive on Crystal Springs Drive for approx 1.32 miles to a STOP SIGN.
  • LEFT TURN at the STOP SIGN and RIGHT TURN into PARKING LOT “BBB”.
  • From here it is a short walk to the set up area. It might be helpful for you to use a wagon or rolling luggage to bring your crew items to the greens.

CHIP LAP COUNTING
Your timing device for this event is a disposable tag affixed to the back of your bib number. In order to receive an accurate lap count, please make sure your bib is clearly visible on the front of the torso, unaltered and unmodified (DO NOT fold or wrinkle), pinned in all four corners, and not covered by jackets, runner belts, water bottles, etc. Pins will be included in your race packet. As you pass through the chip station, a monitor will display your mileage completed, etc.

 
RUN VERTICAL PRODUCTIONS
Run Vertical Productions will be at Cirque to photograph and videograph the event. Please be sure to wear your bib visibly on your front so you will be able to purchase your images. You can view their amazing work on their Facebook Page. https://www.facebook.com/runverticalproductions/

 
RUNNER VILLAGE SETUP​
  • Runner Village is on the greens across from the race kitchen.
  • Location priority is given as follows:
    • ​100-Mile and 24-Hour runners will set up closest to the course..
    • Overnight 12-hour runners will be next in priority meaning behind the 24 runners.
    • Daytime 12-hour runners will be next in priority meaning behind the overnight runners.
    • 6-Hour runners will set up behind the other runners.
  • We will do our best to set out some cones and caution tape to keep the tents organized.
  • We will put up about a dozen shade popups in the Runner Village for runners to set up chairs. This area will be for runners only who don’t bring their own shade pop-ups.
  • We will have an area in the front for two rows of small 2-person tents for overnight runners. 
  • Behind the overnight tent area will be space for 12 and 6-hour runners to set up their own shade popups.
  • Griffith Park does not allow “branding” on tents or popups; branding is defined as “marking; advertising; promotion” of a business or running club. If you want to promote your club, you will need to make a payment of $250 to Griffith Park. 
  • The park rules state that no tent stakes be put in the ground. If you need to tie down your pop-up, please hang gallon water jugs from each corner.​

EVENT RULES (COVID-19 changes are in RED TEXT)
We respectfully ask for your cooperation in following the event rules and enforcing the same rules on your fellow competitors.
  •  

  • All runners, crew, pacers and spectators (henceforth known as "Support" will be required to show proof of Covid Vaccines or show a recent (within 48-hours) negative test result.
  • All runners and Support will be required to wear a face covering AT ALL TIMES when not running, while on the greens, while parking, at bib pickup, using the toilets, etc. but may pull it down around their neck while running if distancing can be maintained.
  • Runners and Support will be required to provide their own water, sports drink, ice and snacks for the entire race. Sweet and salty snack foods are recommended. Runners will access their supplies at their own rest stop on the greens adjacent to the course.
  • We will have a kitchen at base camp that will open for the nighttime hours and will prepare some hot foods  (coffee, cocoa, vegan soup, chicken noodle soup, pizza).
  • There will be no self-serve at the kitchen; please wait for the volunteers to serve you and maintain social distancing.
  • Runners will be required to use hand gel before approaching the kitchen and also before and after using the toilets.
  • Due to the loss of revenue from Covid-19, there will be NO COMP ENTRIES for this event.​ ​​
  • Events are held by permit from L.A. Parks & Rec and may be subject to delays or abrupt cancellation prior to the event or even during the event under circumstances including but not limited to pandemics, Red Flag Alert, high temperatures, excessive heat index, excessive rainfall or flooding.
  • All sales are final. Event fees are non-refundable or exchangeable for any reason including event cancellation.
  • Runners must be at least 18 y/o to participate.
  • Race management reserves the right to refuse entry to anyone, for any reason.
  • Park hours are 5:00am to 10:30pm. No one may exit or enter the park outside of these hours. If you are inside the park after 10:30pm, you may be locked out until morning.
  • Quiet hours in the park are in effect until the event start. Please park and head to the check-in area in a quiet manner.
  • 25 mph speed limit strictly enforced inside the park.
  • Please enter the park from the Los Feliz Blvd. entrance only.
  • Runners and Support may enter the park beginning at 5:30am. Please do not attempt to line up before your time - It's important to get our Staff and Volunteers into the park before the Runners enter. 
  • Bib Pickup and Event Day Registration for 100 & 24 Runners begins at 6:30 am.​
  • Bib Pickup and Event Day Registration for 12-Hour  Runners starts at 7:00am and continues until 1:45pm.
  • Bib Pickup and Event Day Registration for 6-Hour  Runners starts at 7:30am and continues until 1:45pm.
  • Credit will be given only for laps completed. Runners must complete a lap before the clock expires to receive credit for mileage run during that lap; no credit will be given for partial laps.
  • Runners are responsible to determine if there is enough time on the clock to complete an additional 2.43-mile lap before the clock expires.
  • Participants who arrive late for their start will be credited only for the laps they complete before the expiration time of their official event.
  • 100-Mile event will run for 30-hours.
  • 24-Hour Runners who reach mile 85 by 24-hours will be permitted to continue toward 100-Miles to earn a buckle.
  • Pre-registration is online only. We do not accept mail-in registration. 
  • Online registration will generate an email to you. Please check your SPAM folder if your email does not arrive.​
  • Race day registration is available until 15 minutes before each event start time.
  • Shirts and shirt sizes are not guaranteed for runners who register after May 10.​
  • Runners must present photo ID to pick up their bibs.
  • Please bring $5.00 in a white envelope with your full name printed on the front. This will be a donation to our 501c3 Charity DAWG SQUAD. 
  • Bibs must be clearly visible on your front side at all times.
  • The Saturday 6-Hour has a flexible start time; you may begin anytime from 8:00am up until 2:00pm.  Please check in with the Timer before beginning your event.
  • There will be a Runner Briefing about 10-minutes before each start. Please observe distancing at the starting area and observe quiet to listen to instructions for your safety and the safety of others. 
  • The event will not distribute medications of any kind. The use of NSAIDs (advil, aleve, etc.) is STRONGLY DISCOURAGED because they have been implicated with a risk of Rhabdo and kidney failure among ultra runners.
  • All runners must yield right-of-way to equestrians (horses) on the course.
  • Slower runners and walkers, please stay to the right side of the trail to allow runner passing on your left.
  • Faster runners, please pass on the left. Make your intentions known, ie. "passing on your left please".
  • The use of audio devices is allowed however per RRCA Regulations, we will enforce a one-ear-bud rule.
  • Littering will get you DQd and banned from future events.
  • Please do not use the race course as your "bathroom". This will also get you DQd and banned. Toilets will be available to you every 2.43 miles placed near the rest area.
  • No rudeness or arguing with event officials; all volunteers are event officials. Throwing a tantrum will get you DQd. 
  • Runners who dress up in Circus theme characters will be eligible for Costume Awards. Contenders must wear their costume until 8:00pm on Saturday.
  • ​The 2.43-mile path is open to public use on event day. You may encounter other runners or walkers and even an occasional horse.
  • The opportunity to have Crews and Pacers will depend on the number caps imposed by the permit agency. Please see updated information below.
  • Children are not permitted on the race course. 
  • Dogs are not permitted on the race course.
  • Runners may not meet their crew at any location other than the greens in the Crystal Springs Picnic Area.
  • No bicycles on the race course.
  • No baby joggers on the race course.
  • BBQs are okay but no open fires please.
  • There is no alcohol permitted in the park.
  • There is wildlife in Griffith Park including but not limited to coyotes, mountain lions, skunks, rattlesnakes, racoons, that may wander into the picnic area. Do not feed the wildlife.
  • RISK: You are running at your own risk. You assume any and all financial responsibility that may be incurred in the event you require emergency evacuation from the course, including but not limited to air evacuation.
  • Event fees are non-refundable for any reason including event cancellation.
  • In the unlikely event of race cancellation, attempts will be made to reschedule within 45-days.
  • Sorry, you may not transfer your bib to another runner.
  • Runners must present photo ID to pick up their bibs.
  • Bibs must be clearly visible on your front side.
  • Quiet hours in the parks are in effect until the event start. Please park and head to the check-in area in a quiet manner.
  • No early starts.
  • No smoking and no open fires. BBQs are okay.
  • All runners must yield right-of-way to equestrians (horses).
  • Slower runners and walkers, please stay to the right side of the trail to allow passing on your left.
  • Faster runners, please pass on the left. Make your intentions known, ie. "passing on your left please".

  • All rules are non-negotiable. Event officials reserve the right to enforce rules and/or to create new rules as necessary, up to and including on event day.​

​CREW, PACERS & SPECTATORS
  • Due to Covid restrictions, we will be limiting the numbers of crew and pacers at the races, as follows.
  • 100-MILE & 24-HOUR Runners may have 2 crew people per runner. All crewing must be done from your rest stop on the greens. Pacing may begin at 8:00pm on Saturday. Support people may alternate crewing and pacing but only one pacer at a time is permitted on the course.
  • 12-HOUR & 6-HOUR Runners may have 1 crew person only who will stay at your rest spot on the greens. There will be no pacers allowed in these two events.  
  • Friends, Family & Spectators will not be permitted in the race area. There are several open areas along Crystal Springs Drive and at the north end of the course (at Gene Autry south parking lot) where your friends and family may say hello to you as long as they don't present an obstacle to other trail users. There will be no crewing allowed and no exchange of pacers at any location other than base camp. If this presents a problem for the race, runner may face disqualification.

EVENT CANCELLATION DISCLAIMER
Trail Run Events is optimistic that this event will happen in 2022. However, it is important that we all understand and agree that everything is fluid and unforeseen challenges and changes may happen in the future. Trail Run Events is constantly monitoring, educating and interacting with our local, state and national health care officials, permit holders and venue property owners regarding COVID19, wild land fires and Safe Trail Running and Racing. With the current social, medical and legal instabilities, it is impossible to guarantee that this event will happen as planned. Trail Run Events will conduct this event only if safe and legal as described by the CDC, state and local authorities. 

Trail Run Events, CA State Parks, MRCA and the venue property owners reserve the right to amend and or cancel this event at anytime. 
As runners, we are part of a great community committed to health and wellness and together we will get through this. Thank you for your patience, understanding and continued support.
